Comments on Beta 9.4 (Build 462)

Testing on Samsung S23 Android (Kernel 5.15.153) and Windows 11 (24H2, build 26100.5074) 1) (Windows) Opening SplashID and closing again quickly seems to cause the app to hang. Perhaps poor performance with background comms (I am on a very slow network right now) may be giving the appearance of the app hanging. 2) (Windows) Each time I re-open the app as a windows (not full screen) it shunts a little to the right and a little further down than it was when I closed it. A bit annoying that it wants to run away and I have to keep dragging it back into the centre of my screen. 3) (Android) Performance still poor with initial opening as app appears entirely unresponsive even after the record list has been built and displayed. In fact I'm not convinced it hasn't hung on my phone. Synchronisation green rotating circular arrows spins for a bit, but that's it. I cant do anything more. The index alphabet on the right hand edge of the screen moves but I can't scroll the records and I can't select a letter. Even the scrolling stops eventually. Switching away from the app and then switching back just gives a black screen for about 30 seconds before it comes back, but still non-responsive. Again, this *may* be down to background comms which isn't quite as 'background' as it should be. I am admittadly on a very slow Internet conenction right now and am using WiFi with mobile data turned off, but it should do *something*. Unable to test further using Android (which is annoying, because that's what I use the most). Thanks, Angus

Thanks for the detailed report. Appreciate it. 1) It is quite likely as you described. We will check it out to see if anything can be done for it. 2) We have a fix for this and it should go out in the next beta release in the coming days. 3) I see a large number of custom icons in your account. If it is a fresh install or a first time sync, it will take quite some time. We need to relook at our system design on how to handle accounts with large number of icons and attachments efficiently. For now if you could get the app to complete the first sync over a 'good' connection successfully, then subsequent syncs will be quick. If you could try this and let us know how it feels then it will be great.

Just did a large reply, then had to sign into this system and it lost it all. I will try and remember what I put. With 3) I installed this version of the Beta over the last version. All the icons, etc. should already be on the device, and in fairness they did display quickly. Also, I now see (perhaps after a lot of processing) that I can search and select records which I search for, but the scrolling of the records is still not working for me and using the alphabet index isn't working either (although that does scroll). Does SplashID work in the background once you've signed in? If I sign in and switch to another app to get on with something else, when I switch back to SplashID will it have progressed with what it was doing or just pick up from where I left it? Hopefully the former!

The app will continue processing as long as it is not locked. Sync in the background will put the auto lock on hold. So if you use other apps, the processing will continue.

Your Item 2: I have had same problem. I am using 4K monitor. SplashID always opens partially off screen. I reposition it, then close it, and it is supposed to remember where it was upon reopening, but it does not do that. I reported also and sent screen shots to them.

We will have this fixed in the next beta release. The cause was detected and a fix is being worked upon.

I'm testing on Samsung Galaxy S24+ (Kernel 6.1.99) and Windows 11 (24H2, build 26100.5074). I'm unable to duplicate numbers 1 and 2 here, but I'm having similar issues with the Android app. I've tried both ways... setting to sync on open, and also turning that off... but either way, neither the records or the letters will scroll. It's not hung; I'm able to access any record that I can see, plus I CAN search/filter - but regardless, nothing will scroll.
