Mac Desktop does not have basic selection copy from notes in view mode

Mac Desktop in pro 9 does not have basic selection copy from notes when in view mode - able to select text but cmd-c does not work or right mouse menu does not exists there. In the classic this was working. Such a basic feature missing! Have to edit the record every time i just need to select a line from notes!!!
