I am sorry, but 7.2.x Desktop app view is not coming back.
If you wish, you can downgrade back to 7.2.2 Desktop app (Mac) or 7.2.4 Desktop app (Windows PC). Our older 7.2.x Desktop apps sync fine with Web and mobile apps. -

With the old look and feel the information was much more clearly arranged, i.e. very user oriented which is missing in v8. Why was this changed??? I'm still using v7 because of the views.
